This is the nicest thing ANYONE has EVER written about me

(FROM my wonderful hippie mom. Don't laugh. This means a lot to me.)

I speak from experience:

With Ry you walk a longer distance, faster than you think you can

With Ry you swim deeper in the ocean, without fear

With Ry you laugh hard and often, from your belly

With Ry you travel to places you did not know you needed to visit, until she took you

With Ry you see, rather than look and do not miss a thing

With Ry you learn because she insists you question and think and you are glad you did

With Ry you feel understood and know love

Steve knows this or he would not have proposed, congratulations
And best wishes to the bride, my daughter, Ryan.

Yesterday I got some really bad personal news. Something that completely threw me for a loop. Something that made me feel unsafe. Something that spiraled me back into the past where I dont like to go.

I was meeting Kate for a movie. We returned the tickets and proceeded to get wrecked.

About Kate: When I first met her I thought she was so much fun, but I was scared of another Leo girl friend (like Kiwi and Shelly - the two great best friends of my life). They are the most intense friends, but sometimes can be so selfish and harsh for us sensitive cancerians.

Last night Kate made me feel great. She did and said everything I needed...I feel so happy to have a friend like her. She was totally 100% there for me. And I suddenly remembered why it is worth it to have girlfriends. Why it is totally necessary. Kate rocks. Kate is my friend. MY friend. For real.

Among other things we got a random tarot card reading from a witch/coke dealer who was completely dead-on right about everything. His reading for Kate was incredible. His reading for me (yes, I asked about S) was unbelievable.
Obviously one shouldn't make life decisions based on a bunch of cards - but I have the soul of a dirty hippie - so I probably will anyways.

I woke up this morning, watched the sunrise and started to throw things out. Boxes and Boxes. I need to make room for the new.

FAVORITE MOMENT OF LAST NIGHT:
Steve grabbing my hand (what a romantic) when the girl we were getting a joint lap dance from had her ass in his face.
This was before she explained she had a fiance but that they had an open relationship and ?would we be interested in a threesome? and then tried to kiss me on the lips.

Oh wait - my favorite moment was actually Monica singing. Or was it Monica, Rachel and I stuffing dollars into g-strings (did Rachel rub a leg?) Or maybe Brads ear-to-ear grin. Or was it waking up, still drunk, with naked Steve sleeping on the other end of the bed. What were we doing?

Girly-girl guide to getting happy

2 hrs with my flamboyant gay hairdresser telling it like it is.
One chocolate croissant.
One copy of Cosmo with a hysterical article on how to please a man and then trick him into marrying you.
Three calls to good friends.
A slow stroll down Castro in the sunshine with fabulous hair, a warm drink, and an abundance of gorgeous men.
Happy again.

Somehow this incredibly woo-woo email is helping me get through today.

"Today is jammed packed with cosmic significance.
It is an ESPECIALLY Celestially Auspicious Occasion.
It is not only the Autumnal Equinox, but also the New
Harvest Moon, the Lunar Apogee -- the moon's closest
distance from Earth -- and an annular Solar Eclipse."

Book of the Day: Caves in Heaven

Afterlife: A guided tour of Heaven and its Wonders

Has now replaced "People who don't know that they are dead" as this weeks best.

Opened to: "There are people who are sent off into caves right after their death and in this way are segregated from people in the world of spirits. They are alternatively brought out and sent back in."
Errr. Why are they brought out and then back in again. To taunt them? What if they like the cave. What if they have no interest in being with all the people spirits. What if they just need a god damn break.

Strip Clubs

My best friend Hutch is in town. So we went out.
Last night I was in a poker tournament.
Then I went to my burger joint/neighborhood dating service.
Drunk dialed a few people, including my ex-stalker lesbian Irene. And someone who I (not so) fondly call, burger boy.
To his face.
Went to two strip clubs.
Got a lap dance from this very cute blond girl. And even, for a moment believed her adorable sob story about her ex-husband and "doing what you have to do to get by."
Made out with my best friend.
Went to see my guy at a bar (because I really needed one more drink at this point).
Decided to tell his friend my entire life story and what I feel about relationships (I guess. Dont remember).
Tried to sleep on the street (the sidewalk seemed nice and cool).
Then rambunctiously tried to get some (nothing sexier then a really drunk girl on top of you).
Then passed out.
And woke up saying FUCK.

Question: What is the one thing I regret?
